Bucharest, May 19, 2022: Leader Team Broker, a key player on the niche insurance market in Europe, brokered, last year, premiums totaling over 7 .2 million euros, up 20% compared to the previous year, the largest amount in the company’s history. Last year, the best-selling insurances were car insurance, cyber risk insurance and property and building insurance. In 2021, the company also expanded to 20 EU countries, where it mainly sold Cyber and Amazon insurance. For 2022, the broker aims to launch on the local and European market new innovative products for building insurance, an M&A policy, dedicated to companies that are in the process of acquisitions, as well as new health and travel products.

Although it was a year full of economic challenges, Leader Team Broker identified the needs that appeared in the market, in the context of the change in the economic paradigm as a result of the pandemic, and found solutions for them. Thus, the Leader Team continued to innovate and create the right products that, together with partners from Romania or those from the Lloyd’s market in London, offered for the first time to local and European companies.

”We can say that, for Leader Team Broker, 2021 was the best year in history. We brokered premiums totaling more than 7.2 million euros, which represents an increase of approximately 20% compared to the previous year. And although it was a year with many economic difficulties, we tried to take advantage of all the new opportunities that appeared in the market, because the best thing that we learned in the crisis of 2008-2009 was that in a period difficult, the biggest mistake you can make is to panic. That’s why we preferred not to panic, but to face the challenges that arose and turn them into opportunities. So, it was the year in which we continuously innovated and adapted our portfolio products, so that we became the insurance provider for companies from 20 countries in the European Union. If we were to draw three conclusions from the year 2021, they would be: quickly adapt to change and innovate, be persistent in business and always project any action in the medium and long term. We’ve been doing this for years at Leader Team Broker, and that’s how we’ve gone through all the economic crises so far. The best example of innovation and perseverance from recent experience is Cyber Risk insurance, which we launched in 2019, when the pandemic had not yet arrived and no one believed in this product. It is now one of the best sellers in our portfolio, and the estimates are for continuous growth in the coming years,” said Răzvan Rusu, founder of Leader Team Broker.

2021 was also the year in which Leader Team Broker entered the European market, in particular with Cyber Risk insurance – one of the broker’s best-selling innovative products, as a result of the increase in the threat of cyber attacks on companies -, as well as with the insurance Amazon, a mandatory policy required by the online retailer for all companies that sell on the American platform and that the Leader Team created especially for Romanian and European vendors.

Real estate, M&A, health and travel insurance – the newest products in the Leader Team Broker portfolio

For 2022, Leader Team Broker aims to continue to innovate and create products adapted to the needs of companies, in the context of the rapid changes taking place today, with the company already penciling in some of the insurances that it wants to launch for the first time this year .

”In addition to car insurance, which is mandatory, the best-selling policies last year were those of Cyber Risk, because we are the only ones specialized in this segment and we launched specific products for different industries, which face the biggest current cyber attack risks: companies in IT, e-commerce, HR, marketing, consulting, etc. We have also seen an increasing concern of people and companies to insure property and buildings, with our customers better understanding why it is important to insure their home or other buildings they own or property they have, personal or of the company. That is why, this year, we will launch Title Insurance for the first time, a new product dedicated to building owners, both individuals and legal entities, insurance that will protect them from any possible financial losses generated by the purchase or rental of a property. We will also have in the portfolio a new product dedicated to companies involved in acquisition processes, M&A insurance, which will protect them throughout the process, and we are also thinking about new health and travel products, two of areas of great interest, in recent years, among Romanians who want to take out insurance. Therefore, we continue to innovate and bring to the market insurance products that do not exist yet, but which are much needed,” said Alexandra Elena Durbacă, CEO Leader Team Broker.

In terms of investments, the Leader Team Broker will continue to focus on investments in the IT area, namely the optimization of company flows and IT systems used, as well as the development of IT sales tools (for example, the optimization of the EVA chatbot, created especially for assistance in the field of medical insurance). The company will also invest in new insurance instruments from the Lloyd’s market for companies in Romania and Europe.

Leader Team Broker expects the armed tensions on Romania’s northeastern border and the international economic sanctions imposed on Russia to also affect local companies and the general economic climate in Romania.”At the moment, with everything happening at the border In Romania, the only certainty is that 2022 is a year of uncertainty, the attitude is reserved and everyone is waiting to see how things evolve from one day to the next.
